Special Education Department Organization

By Rebecca Kling

August 28, 2007

The Special Education Department met several times this
summer to correlate services and to go over programs
offered. The Tecumseh site department includes Rebecca
Kling, 0-5 District Representative, Elementary Resource Teacher, and
Asst. Special Education Director; and Lisa Schuster, High
School Resource Teacher. Para-professionals are Millie
Kaster, June Maul, and Julie North. The Cook Site Department
includes Mandy Haufle, Elementary Resource Teacher; Karla
Benson, Middle School Resource Teacher; and Lisa Othmer,
Pre-school Teacher. Para-professionals are Betty Teten, Abby
Klaasmeyer, and Sharol Palsen.

We also contract services from the Educational Service Unit
in Auburn. Emily Buddenberg is our Speech Pathologist; Joel
Halpine, Audiologist; and Ellen Stokebrand, Special
Education Director. The Life Skills program, Pre-school
program, and Multi-handicapped programs are also used. ESU
Early Childhood Coordinators Rose Petersen and Lori Haring
help to serve our 0-3 students and their families. Other
contracted personnel include Dave Nachtigal, Physical
Therapy; Coreen Noack, Occupational Therapist; and Brenda
Glunz, School Psychologist.

Currently Johnson County Central is serving approximately
85 students from ages 0-21 years old in one or more
services. If you know of anyone that may need services
please contact Rebecca Kling at 402-335-3320.
