On February 2nd eight students from Johnson County Central participated in the 14th Annual Nebraska State Science Bowl. The science bowl is an academic quiz bowl style competition of 40 teams in the state. They had to compete with schools of all sizes and represented their school well. Our team A went through the round robin competition undefeated, and made the final 16 team tournament, before losing a heart breaker by only 6 points. They were one of the smallest schools to qualify for the afternoon tourney. Johnson County Central B team finished the morning round robin with a 1-2 record, losing to two very good teams in Bellevue West, and Omaha Central. Some of our underclassmen from both teams showed a lot of promise and the future looks bright for next yearâs Science Bowl. Final Bracket for Nebraska Science Bowl
