January 30, 2008

The Johnson County School District No. 0050 Board of Education met in special session at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in the cafeteria in the high school in Tecumseh. The purpose of the meeting was to consider staffing needs for the 2008-09 school year.
Steve Nolte called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. and stated that a copy of the Open Meetings Law was available for review.
Superintendent Moles made a statement on the work of the Board of Education in considering staffing needs and the possibilities of a reduction in force.
A discussion was held on the effects of a reduction in force at this point in time.
No action was taken on a reduction in force. The Board did state that if staff members were to retire or resign decisions would be made at that time on whether to fill or eliminate the positions that were vacated.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
