WHAT'S NEW IN MUSIC AT THE NORTH SITE OF JCC

Well, for one a full time K-8 Vocal Instructor. Last spring, I was asked if I would be willing to come to the Cook site and teach vocal music to all of the students. After some careful consideration, I decided it was the best job for me. Actually, I consider it my dream job. Although I loved being a band director, my musical training throughout high school and college had always been geared more for vocal and piano training. I am now very busy teaching music to all the students at JCC North. I brag that I get to teach every student every day up here. Although, I don’t teach the pre-school students, I do take the opportunity to talk to them every day and get acquainted with them so that when they are in Kindergarten next year, I will know something about them.
Upcoming performances for JCC North include all grades singing patriotic musical selections for the Veteran’s Day Celebration on November 11. Also, thirteen students will be chosen to represent JCC Middle School Conference Honor Choir at Palmyra. These students will be chosen through an audition process and will then rehearse in a mass choir with other middle school students from our conference. The day will culminate in a concert at 7:00 PM at the Palmyra Gym. The public is welcome to attend both of these events. Please check the calendar for other musical events.
As many of you are aware, I managed a wreath selling fundraiser for the band. It is with great regret that I must announce that this company the Back Home Wreaths no longer makes these wreaths so we will not be selling wreaths this year. I know many of you looked forward to buying these beautiful wreaths, so I wanted to take this opportunity to inform you. We had a wonderful working rapport, and I will greatly miss working with these talented people and miss seeing these beautiful wreaths around town.
