Electric vehicles ready for fourth season

by Rick Richard

February 26, 2010

The electric vehicles are hoping for another successful rally season. Last year, was highlighted by winning the state endurance race at Pacific Junction. The N35 also finished 2nd at Elk Creek and Johnson. The cars are going to move up in class this year. The race teams are looking forward to the new competition. We feel that the cars this year have several new innovations that will make us competitive the new classification. Member of the S35 car are Brandon Borrenpohl, Logan Driskell, Seth Parrish, Rick Reyes. The steering on this car is different in its setup that what we have done before with the components going over the driver it seems to be very promising. The A67 car members are Justin Bartels, Robert Broadfoot, Ethan Dresen, Bryant Flewelling, Spencer Kerner, Lucas Lada, and Alex Thompson. This car has a newly designed drive mechanism and a very unique seating arrangement. They are also planning on making an aluminum skin on the body. I would like to personally thank the Johnson Chamber of Commerce, Frank Foetish jr, Jeff and Joan Peters and Time Warner Cable for generous donations to our race team. The team needs some more sponsors to complete the year. If your are interested please contact Rick Richard at the high school.
