Johnson County Central FFA takes top honors at the Otoe County Fair

The 2010 Otoe County Fair was a big success for the Johnson County Central FFA Chapter. This year chapter members exhibited cattle. The following JCC FFA members trained, fit, and groomed their livestock for the show on August 17, 2010: Lisa Niedermeyer, Mallory Lempka, Tricia Lempka, Holly Weber, Clark Teten, Clinton Sommerhalder, Kade Kuhlmann, and Jordon Lempka. Clinton Sommerhalder received Reserve Champion Commercial Breeding Beef and Holly Weber received Champion Over-All breeds with her purebred Maine Anjou breeding heifer. In the market heifer class, Mallory Lempka received Champion and Tricia Lempka was awarded Reserve. Mallory will be showing her market heifer at the Nebraska State Fair September 4th in Grand Island. In the market steer division, Lisa Niedermeyer won her class and received Reserve Champion Market Steer Over-all. The FFA members go through a round of showmanship where they answer questions from the judge and properly display their animal for show. This year Lisa, Holly, Kade, and Clinton all received purple ribbons and where all called back for the final round where Lisa Niedermeyer received 3rd place Showman. The show wrapped up with Mrs.Hodges presenting the Rate of Gain money sponsored by Johnson County Central FFA Chapter. Kade Kuhlmann received 1st place with his Market steer.
