The year is off to a great start. We have been busy working on the four main goals of the ELL classroom – improving Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
We have been discussing and writing about our summer vacations. Almost all the students had a chance to travel somewhere this summer to visit family and friends. Sharing our experiences with the class allowed us to practice our spoken English.
We have received some new students this year. We want to welcome them to our school and the ELL program. It is always exciting to the students when someone new comes in and they can help someone else learn English. Those first few months in a new country or at a new school can be very difficult, and we are lucky to have such kind and helpful students at JCC.
