State AcaDeca Results

On February 20-21, the Johnson County Central Academic Decathlon team competed at State Academic Decathlon at the University of Omaha. Grant Moles competed in the honors category where he placed 2nd in Math and Interview. Bryan Murphy competed at the scholastic level and received a bronze for Speech. Annika McDonald competed at the alternate scholastic level where she received a silver in Fine Arts and bronze in Soft Science. 

The JCC Super Quiz team tied for third place. The members include Grant Moles, Kaycee Bartels, Bryce Sahs, Sara Kettelhake, Bryan Murphy, Courtney Klaasmeyer, Sloan Pollard and Mariah Trew. In many of the contests, students were very close to medaling. Grant was 4th in Lang/Lit and Science. Kaycee was 4th in Essay with a score of 902 out of 1000, which was a new JCC record. Courtney was 5th in Lang/Lit. Sara placed 4th in Speech. Bryan was 5th in Interview. Mariah speech placed 6th.  Grant set two new school records for Math and total score.
