6th Grade Language Arts

As we quickly approach Thanksgiving and Christmas Breaks, sixth graders are starting to adjust to life in Middle School. With busy schedules, switching classes, and several different teachers, students are realizing that time flies when you’re in Middle School!
We are keeping busy in Language Arts class with a lot of different projects. Weekly grammar lessons, skill practices, and spelling tests are a part of our regular routines. So far this year, we’ve completed several different writing assignments, including Personal Narratives, Thank You Letters, Problem/Solution Essays, and Movie Reviews. Coming up we have some bigger projects, including Grammar Flip Books, the Patriot’s Pen Contest, Autobiographies, and Biographies. Sixth graders will even get the chance to become published authors!!
In the next few weeks, we will focus on reading about Fall and Thanksgiving, and all of the traditions that go along with it.
