NeSA and MAPS Testing
Remaining Testing To Take Place at Johnson County Central
We completed the winter MAP Achievement Testing in all of our buildings before Christmas.. Many of you will hear about the results at Parent/Teacher Conference in March.
In January, the 4th, 8th and 11th graders completed the NeSA - Writing test. The 4th graders completed their testing in two 40-minute sessions during two days. On the first day they wrote a rough draft and on the second day, they edited their pieces and copied them into a writing booklet. In the 8th and 11th grades, they composed and edited their pieces during one 90 minute period all on-line. Those results will be available later this year.
Coming up in March, April and May, some of our students will be completing NeSA - Reading, Math and Science assessments as well as the final MAP Spring assessment. The following is a list of the tests and those students who will be completing them. You will also receive an ALL-CALL if your student is involved in any sort of testing, the night before. Please try to not schedule any appointments during the testing times, if at all possible.
These tests are very important in so many ways. It’s important for your student so you and your student can see how they are progressing in each academic area. It is important to their teachers seeing where they need to add or change their curriculum or teaching style. It is very important to our whole district because we want our students to be prepared and ready to graduate having the tools they need to be literate and competent as adults.
Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation in these very important testing situations.
