Middle School Vocal Music
First of all, I’d like to say how proud I am of all of my students and how well they are doing in Choir. We are already much farther along learning our songs than I expected! The sixth graders, especially, have already made me look for more songs to teach them.
A couple of weeks ago, I posted a sign-up sheet in the choir room for 8th grade students to audition for the ECNC Honor Choir in October. This week I am holding auditions for the thirteen spots. I wanted to give 8th graders the first chance to participate in the honor choir. This way, 6th and 7th graders will get chances in the next couple of years and the 8th graders will gain experience for when they enter into high school and participate in high school honor choirs. All of the eighth grade students are learning the pieces for ECNC and some of them will be showcased at our school concerts. There will be a few more opportunities throughout the year to participate in an honor choir, if students are interested.
I would also like to welcome Ms Crystal Marker to our middle school choirs. She is our new middle school accompanist from Tecumseh. She is very excited to come and play for our students and we are all very excited to have her!
