Middle School Cross Country Runners Wanted

May 18, 2015

The Johnson County Central Cross Country team is seeking enthusiastic and motivated 7th and 8th grade boys and girls to join the team.  The JCC Cross Country team has sent two teams to the State Cross Country meet the last 2 years and is looking for new members to join the program and continue to build this tradition.  The Middle School team competes in 6 meets during the season, culminating with the Jr. High State Cross Country Meet in Papillion, and everyone gets to run each meet.  There are no benches in cross country and everyone gets to compete.

Cross Country races at the 7th and 8th grade level typically are 1.5 to 2 miles in length.  Practices are after school in Tecumseh at the High School each day, with the exception of Wednesday, lasting until 5:30 pm.  Our practices are designed to help the runners build the endurance necessary to not only complete a cross country race but also to become competitive against other runners in their age group.  The first day of practice for any 7th or 8th grader wanting to take part will be Monday, August 24th at the JCC high school track.

Any questions that you may can directed to Coach Weber at 402-310-2136 or nick.weber@jccentral.org.
