Renaissance Home Connect

As most of you parents know, Johnson County Central Public Schools has been using Accelerated Reading for many years to allow our students to individually practice their reading skills with books of their choice. When switching over to the Renaissance Learning Place online we included the Accelerated Math, Math Facts in a Flash and Accelerated Math 2.0. We utilize STAR Reading and STAR Math for placement purposes as well. These are available in Spanish format as well. These products are used by 1st-8th grade and SPED students only.
We are now ready to include you parents in online reports and practice with Renaissance Home Connect. It allows parents and students to login to a website to view progress and current assignments in AR, AM & MathFacts in a Flash. Parents and students can view performance on reading quizzes and math tests, monitor progress toward goals, and see the student’s online bookshelf displaying book covers of recently read books. Students can also practice math assignments in AM or MathFacts in a Flash and have the assignments immediately scored at home. Access to online results and assignments promotes discussion between parents and child, which in turn motivates students.

Besides viewing the website, parents, grandparents, or other caregivers can stay on top of student progress by receiving an email after each Reading Practice quiz, after each AM test, and after each MathFacts in a Flash level has been completed.
