JCC FFA at UNL Celebratory Lunch

On November 24, Johnson County Central FFA members Ashley Beethe, Saige Rother, Catherine Wendt and Molly Weber, along with JCC FFA sponsors Mrs. Christy Hodges and Mr. Connor Bartels, were invited to take part in UNL's Nebraska FFA Celebratory Lunch at UNL's East Campus and the Commissioner's Recognition Event at the Nebraska State Capitol Rotunda.
Molly and Saige placed 3rd nationally in Agriscience Fair- Power, Structural, and Technical Systems: Division 6.
Ashley and Catherine placed 6th nationally in Agriscience Fair- Food Products and Processing: Division 6.
The UNL luncheon recognized FFA members from around the state who placed at the National FFA Convention this October. On hand to recognize the students were staff from UNL's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, as well as National FFA Central Region Vice President, Claire Woeppel (Chambers, NE) and Nebraska FFA Secretary, Leah Christen (Lewiston, NE).
The Commissioner's Recognition Event recognized students from Nebraska who placed at national competitions in DECA, Educators Rising, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA and Skills USA. In attendance to congratulate the students at the rotunda were Nebraska Governor Mr. Jim Pillen and Nebraska Commissioner of Education Dr. Brian Maher.
